The Five Graces
“The Five Graces” Oil on canvas. 120×90cm. 2024.
This artwork continues the development of the river series, which is very special and important to me. Water, the mystery of bathing, and nude figures are at the heart of my work. As I have mentioned before, water and women have a common, life-giving quality for me. While the theme of bathing in the works of other artists is not unique, its interpretation can be varied. This time, my idea revolved around a classical multi-figure composition. I allowed myself to use the warm impression of evening light, with its color spots, reflections, and shadows. The female body's graceful form is the most beautiful visual language for me to express myself. I have been the painting since August, taking my time and putting in a lot of effort.
