ABOUT PACKING IN MY INTERNATIONAL SALES PRACTICE.

In my practice of packaging artwork, I use different types of packaging materials, depending on the destination, size and delivery budget.

1. The first option is the simplest and cheapest. Basically, I use this type of packaging if I transfer the artwork from hand to hand or the delivery destination is within the same city and it is possible to carefully deliver the painting by courier at a short distance. This option is a package made of thick kraft paper or cardboard. This is usually enough for delivery by courier at short distances to the recipient.

2. ANOTHER TYPE OF PACKAGING THAT I USE MOST OFTEN IS POLYSTYRENE BOARDS COVERED WITH STRETCH tape, WHERE THE Painting IS IN THE MIDDLE BETWEEN TWO POLYSTYRENE BOARDS. IT IS REALLY A VERY DURABLE AND LIGHTWEIGHT PACKAGING MATERIAL. MOREOVER, DUE TO THE EASE OF USE, I apply IT ALSO FOR LARGE SIZES. THE PACKAGING TURNS OUT TO BE VERY STRONG, RELATIVELY LIGHT AND AIRTIGHT. THIS IS A GREAT OPTION FOR MOST SHIPPING DESTINATIONS

3. Perhaps the most reliable, but at the same time the most expensive type of packaging is a plywood box. The advantages of this method are obvious - it is the best protection among other types of packaging. The wooden frame and plywood lining on the sides undoubtedly gives the most reliable protection of works of art. Another advantage of this method is the ability to pack several paintings into one cargo. But unfortunately there are also disadvantages - this is the high price of delivery due to the large weight and dimensions. On the other hand, this method gives an almost complete guarantee of the delivery of the painting without any damage. I make this type of packaging by prior agreement with the client, if the buyer is willing to incur additional shipping costs.

4. One of the most budget-friendly delivery options is packaging in a tube. In this case, the canvas is removed from the stretcher and sent rolled up without a wooden frame. On the one side, this method is economical, because it eliminates excess weight and has small dimensions, on the other side, when receiving a canvas in a roll, the client needs to re-stretch the canvas on the frame. This is not always convenient and requires additional time and costs. However, for example, when it comes to a large canvas format, this method significantly helps to save money on delivery.

In any case, no matter which delivery method you choose, I always take a very careful and high-quality approach to the production of packaging. Be sure that the painting you purchased will be under reliable protection during delivery. Have a good art shopping!
